A New Year is Here

A good beginning makes a good end.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2014

I took some time today to give the blog a NEW LOOK for the NEW YEAR.  What do you think about the changes? I think it looks a little better organized.  I still have a few things I want to tweak.  I'm just so slow at doing this sort of thing.

I've taken a look back at 2013 and now it's time to look ahead.  What will the year ahead hold? I know there will be joys and sorrows, good times and bad times for these are the things that life is made of.  We plan to take a few trips and there is a new grandbaby due in June so those are things to look forward to.

These blocks need attention

In the studio I need to finish up a few things ASAP.  So here is the list of what I need to focus on for January 2014:

1. Grandson's quilt finish top, quilt and bind. I really want this one finished!
2. Tribble Trouble quilted
3. Bow Tie #1 quilted
4. Bow Tie #2 quilted
5. Applique quilt quilted
6. Charity Plaid Tumblers quilted
7. Do some embroidery on my machine.  Still haven't played with the new toy, sigh.
8. Design baby quilt. Baby comes in June, need to get started.
9. Cut out a quilt with the Accuquilt Studio cutter. Maybe I can combine these last two.

That's a whole lot of quilting!  Hope I can get most of it done!  All of it done would be a great start for the year!

Have you made plans for the month yet?

  1. Happy New Year to you! I am having a hard time narrowing my list - too much excitement over making new yearly, quarterly and monthly goals I think... maybe a glass of wine is due to settle down. Love your blocks!

  2. I have an Accuquilt Go Baby which limits me somewhat in the choice of blocks. I do like it though. I just got the new 1" hexie die. I do a lot of hexagons.

  4. Beautiful blocks - I thought maybe they were for the Kona solid challenge and didn't see an icon for that. Congrats on the new grandbaby in June. My daughter had to have a D&C last June to terminate an unsustainable pregnancy, so I know what you mean about sorrows. It was the same day my ex-husband of only 7 months was found dead in his apartment. He and I were still close and his family lives out of state, so most everything fell to me to do. I even thought I was going to have to go to court to claim the body after he laid in the ME's office for over a month. I'm still recouping from surgery on both my eyes in late November and chomping at the bit to be able to do any form of quilting again. I love your making at to-do list for the month. I have a mental one and as soon as I can see to do any crafting at all, it's going to become a realistic written list that I can slowly start to do. Thanks for all your inspiration and I get great pleasure from seeing the accomplishments of others as I'm recouping. Many thanks for posting and bringing pleasure to others.

  6. Patricia, you are an inspiration to us all. I have stacks of blocks for UFOs laid out and several quilts just almost put together. Making a list on my white board would be a great way to organize my thoughts and prioritize the projects.
