More New Projects

It is extraordinary that whole populations have no projects for the future, none at all. It certainly is extraordinary, but it is certainly true.

I am trying to get down to my studio to get some quilting done but I wanted to share the NEW things I started in July.

I cut out 2 Stripy baseball themed quilts for my charity quilting group.  It seems they can't keep enough masculine quilts on hand.  Most of the ones created have a feminine feel to it.  Too many flowers, pinks and purples I guess.  I rooted out these fabrics from my stash with little effort and had enough for 2 large size lap quilts.

Two Baseball Themed Stripy Quilt Kits

If you have never made a Stripy Quilt they are FUN and FAST.  I will be sewing it together on my serger since it is all straight seams.  Most of the fabrics are 60 inches wide so it will be a nice size.

My other new UFO is almost a finish.  I quilted a pantograph on this Daisy Kingdom panel.  I think the plaid matched just right for the back.  Now to get it bound.

I have four African Violets hanging in my eating area.  They have been taking turns blooming for several months.  I thought I would share this one with you today.  It is my smallest one.

I was just wondering... when do NEW projects become OLD projects?  Do you have a time frame for it?  Since I am ALWAYS starting NEW projects and don't get many OLD projects finished I have plenty of BOTH.  How about you?

  1. I love your pantograph quilting Patricia. Projects flit in and out of new, old, in progress, and the timeframe for each is never the same :)

  2. I have to work at keeping my Project Linus quilts either gender neutral or all boy... love your baseball fabrics! One of my online UFO groups uses the end of the year as the cut off (a 2013 unfinished WIP/new project becomes a UFO on Jan 1, 2014) so I've adopted that as an easy distinction. Whatever works... either way I want the number decreasing!
